Former MNA and National Democratic Movement (NDM) Chairman Mohsin Dawar’s vehicle was attacked by unknown gunmen while he was campaigning for the upcoming elections in the Tappi area of North Waziristan. Dawar and his colleagues remained unharmed as the car was bulletproof.
In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the NDM condemned the attack and noted that terrorism is on the rise in Waziristan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
“How will level playing field be provided to Chairman Mohsin Dawar in such a dangerous environment? We demand an immediate investigation into this attack. The local administration has to make security arrangements for the candidates. We demand the Election Commissioner to immediately call an emergency meeting regarding the security of candidates in Pakhtunkhwa,” the statement added.
NDM leader Bushra Gohar said on X: “Strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack on #NDM‘s central Chairperson #MohsinDawar‘s election campaign in #Tappi #NorthWaziristan. Demand an immediate inquiry.
