Abduction Of Hindu Girls Continues Unabated In Sindh: Another Minor Falls Victim

In yet another case of persecution of the Hindu community in Pakistan, a 12-year-old Hindu girl was allegedly abducted from a village near Naukot, Sindh.

According to reports, minor girl identified as Nilan Kolhi was allegedly abducted from Haji Sultan Tangri near Naukot.


The girl’s parents protested against the kidnapping.
According to the parents, the police registered the FIR stating the girl’s age to be 17-year-old whereas, they maintained, the girl is 12-year-old.


The United Nations had also urged Pakistan to curtail the practice of forced marriages of young girls from religious minorities to Muslim men. The United Nations also called on Pakistani authorities to adopt and implement legislation in this regard.

In a statement, the UN further “expressed alarm” that young girls from religious minorities are kidnapped, trafficked, forcibly converted to Islam, and forced to marry men. The statement called on Pakistani authorities to curb this practice and uphold international human rights law.
