Balochistan Ignored For Recruitments At Newly-Established Gwadar Airport

Published on

Almost all the new recruits at the newly-established Gwadar airport — a joint effort between China and the Pakistan Aviation Authority (PAA) under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) — are from outside Balochistan.

Notification of new recruits is making rounds on social media, with many users criticising the exclusion of people from Balochistan from the airport’s workforce.

Social media users pointed out that from upper management to lower management, majority of the people have been recruited from outside Balochistan.

Gwadar rights movement leader Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman Baloch also tweeted that it is unacceptable that people from Gwadar have been ignored for recruitments at the local airport.

Activists have also planned to protest outside the Gwadar Press Club tomorrow against the “illegal” hirings.
