A local court in Quetta has approved the bail of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) Provincial Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, who is accused of murdering three people in his alleged private jail in Barkhan.
Three bodies were recovered from a well in Barkhan, Balochistan, last month.
The two male bodies were identified as the sons of Khan Muhammad Marri, who had been accusing the provincial minister of detaining his wife, Granaz Marri, and seven children in his private jail for the last two years.
The third body was identified to be an 18-year-old girl, who was tortured, raped, and shot in the head thrice.
Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran was arrested by the police after protests in Quetta and widespread condemnation on social media.
Following the protests and outcry on social media, the police also rescued Granaz and her children allegedly from the minister’s captivity.
Granaz Marri was tortured along with her sons and daughter during the alleged captivity as confirmed by the medical examination.
Granaz Marri and her daughter were also sexually abused.
Granaz Marri had also appeared in a video where she claimed she and her children had been abducted by the minister and were being kept in his private prison.
