Locals have claimed that one civilian was killed and three were abducted during a military operation in Awaran, Balochistan, while Pakistan’s army media wing said the security forces killed three terrorists in the region.
However, according to a press release from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan’s army media wing, three terrorists were killed by security forces during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the general area south of Balochistan’s Awaran district.
The terrorists were linked with “firing and improvised explosive devices incidents” along the Turbat Awaran Road and surrounding areas.
“Based on credible information, multiple ambushes had been laid along different routes in the area frequented by the terrorists for the last three days,” said the ISPR.
A party of three terrorists was intercepted while moving towards their hideout, the military’s media wing said, adding that on being blocked, they opened fire on the security forces.
During the exchange of fire, three terrorists were killed.
The Baloch insurgent group confirmed that the security forces killed three of their people.
Locals have claimed that during the operation a civilian was also killed while the security forces abducted 3 people.
