According to reports, minor girl identified as Nilan Kolhi was allegedly abducted from Haji Sultan Tangri near Naukot.

The girl’s parents protested against the kidnapping.
According to the parents, the police registered the FIR stating the girl’s age to be 17-year-old whereas, they maintained, the girl is 12-year-old.

The kidnapping and abduction case of Nilan Kolhi, a 12-year-old minor Hindu girl kidnapped from Nayon Kot, has been registered against four accused. The United Nations had also urged Pakistan to curtail the practice of forced marriages of young girls from religious minorities to Muslim men. The United Nations also called on Pakistani authorities to adopt and implement legislation in this regard.

In a statement, the UN further “expressed alarm” that young girls from religious minorities are kidnapped, trafficked, forcibly converted to Islam, and forced to marry men. The statement called on Pakistani authorities to curb this practice and uphold international human rights law.

Majid Haideri’s brother, Advocate Sajjad Hussain Haideri has claimed that his brother has been subjected to enforced disappearances as per a report by BBC Urdu.

According to the report, Majid Haideri was working in Dubai for the last 12 years and returned to Pakistan in December 2022.

Haideri’s father was briefly associated with a Sindhi nationalist political party.

In a video uploaded on her daughter’s Twitter handle, Fatima Baloch claimed that police officials along with armed men in a Vigo car have been following her for the last few days.

“I don’t know what they want from me,” she said, while adding that “they have detained my husband for the last two years.”

“Return my husband, I will leave this country with my family if they don’t want me to live here,” she said.

“I am in mental agony– I do not know what I have done and why they are after me like this,” she lamented.

According to Balochistan Post, the woman was “brutally beaten in the presence of her children” before being forcibly disappeared.

Earlier, unidentified men abducted a Baloch citizen identified as Muhammad Rahim Zehri along with his family members, including his mother, wife, and children, from Quetta. Rahim Zehri still remains missing, while the rest of the family was released.

According to a report released by the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances (COIOED) in July 2022, a total of 8,696 cases of missing persons have been reported. While 6,513 of these cases have been solved, 2,219 are still pending. Among the missing persons, the majority of people are from Baloch and Pashtun ethnicities.

However, human rights activists claim the number is much higher than this.
