Zohra Yusuf

Zohra Yusuf is a veteran Pakistani journalist and human rights defender. She is the former Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), and is currently its council member. She has been a member of HRCP since 1988, and a council member since 1990. She is also among the founding members of the feminist group Women’s Action Forum.

Hasan Mujtaba is a Pakistani poet and journalist living in the United States in exile since 1999, after his reporting in Pakistan resulted in threats from state and non-state actors. He worked as a senior reporter at Newslines Magazine before moving to the U.S., and also wrote for BBC Urdu. His poetry on life in exile is a source of comfort for his fellow Pakistanis who were forced out of the country.

Her current reporting mainly revolves around the challenges facing exiled Pakistani individuals and asylum-seekers.
Mir Mohammad Ali Talpur

Mir Mohammad Ali Talpur is a veteran human rights activist and author who has been associated with the Baloch movement since 1971. He wrote several articles for mainstream Pakistani newspapers, but stopped writing in 2015 when a newspaper he regularly wrote for refused to publish him under external pressure. His articles on Dissent Today mark his return to Pakistani media as a commentator.
