Man Accused Of Killing Hindu Citizen And Abducting His Sister In Sindh Gets Bail

Published on

UMERKOT: An additional sessions court in Umerkot, Sindh, has approved the bail of a man who has been accused of kidnapping a Hindu girl and killing her brother, allegedly because he is supported by influential individuals in the area. The abducted girl, who was also allegedly forcibly married and converted to Islam, has not yet been recovered. Meanwhile, the police are said to be avoiding recording the statement of their mother.

Earlier this month, Khoso was taken to Kunri police station, but eventually released, allegedly because of a phone call by an influential politician. Activist Shiva Kachhi claims that attempts were being made to bribe the local policemen so they would quash the FIR against Khoso and free him of murder charges.

Hailing from Mirpur Khas, mother of the slain man, Lakhaan, wants justice for her children. She blames Khoso for forcibly converting her daughter, Lalu, to Islam after kidnapping and then marrying her. The court recovered Lalu, but Lakhaan claims they were attacked by four men when she was taking Lalu and her brother to a safer place, after which Lalu was abducted again and Laluu, Lakhaan’s son, was fatally injured by Khoso.
