According to the Islamabad Police Deputy Inspector General Operations, the police officers were involved in harassing families in public places and asking for their marriage certificates, and demanding bribes among other offenses.

On his Twitter handle, the Islamabad Police DIG said that a First Information Report will be registered against the two policemen.

The DIG also said that both policemen have been arrested and after the enquiry, they will be dealt with in accordance to the law.

I’d received complaint that these police officers were involved in harassing families at public places, asking for nikah nama, exploiting the weakness of others for bribery.

Hence after swift inquiry to ascertain facts; these black sheep get what they rightfully deserve. 2/3

“The job is to protect & serve our citizens… not to harass, exploit or school them in the name of so-called moral policing,” the DIG said.

Citizens are urged to reach out at 1715 in case of any complaints, self-accountability will be ensured at all times.

A video of the leopard running wild and scaling houses in the residential area went viral on social media on Thursday, leading to an hours-long effort by authorities to capture it.

The panicked leopard also injured three people while one rescue official was severely injured.

Islamabad police filed an FIR on Friday against an unknown person under sections 324 (attempt to commit murder) and 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animal) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

On their Twitter handle, the Islamabad police said they have registered an FIR against an unknown person as the suspect endangered the lives of citizens by ‘domesticating’ a dangerous animal.

Netizens also questioned why the police registered an FIR against an unknown person when the suspect has already been identified.

A social media user said: “only the Islamabad police do not know the name of the suspect, otherwise, even the suspect’s address is known to everyone else by now.”

A social media user questioned how the leopard got into the housing society despite cameras being placed everywhere.
